Huda Beauty Demi Matt – Day Slayer 4.5/5

This colour is one of those ‘my lips but better’ colours for me. I love a matt look but hate that a lot of other matte liquid lips make my lips sooo dry and emphasise the lines on my lips. This was excellent as it dosen’t settle into my lines, and is comfortable. It was also really easy to apply.

Saying this, I would definitely say that the finish is less a traditional ‘matte,’ and much more a sort of ‘slightly more glossy than satin’ formula.

Overall I do enjoy it, but it is very different to what I was expecting. As such I don’t think I can give it a 5 star as I don’t think that it should have ‘matte’ in the name at all, as to me it wears much more like a standard lip cream. Other than this though, I do like the product, so I guess 4.5 is the only way to go – just make sure you aren’t expecting a traditional matte lip.

CeraVe SA Cream Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid – 2/5

I’ll start out by saying that I have pretty sensitive skin, and perhaps I should have known better than to try this product – I was just really drawn in my the whole ‘for bumpy skin’ claim.

I have been using this for a week or so, and so far I have used it on my arms, my face and my feet where I have issues with skin texture. Although I’ve only been using it for this week or two, I am going to have to stop, because it feels like it is burning my skin, and has also caused me to break out – quite honestly I have no idea why I continued with it past the first day when I honestly had to wash it off within 5 minutes of first application.

Needless to say, if you have sensitive skin I definitely would not recommend this product. I would however recommend listening to your skin if it is irritated by something, and to stop using that product. Don’t do what I did – applying a moisturiser should not feel like needles are sticking into your face.

Illamasqua Artistry Palette ‘Electrify’ – 3/5

I really love Illamasqua highlighters so thought I’d try an eyeshadow palette, but so far I’ve felt pretty disappoint. I find that it doesn’t pack the punch that I want in a colourful palette, and I feel that this just doesn’t unless it is really built up.
It’s fine, but I’ve got other colourful palettes that I would reach for a million times over! I’ve found that I absolutely ‘have to’ spray the brush if I want the colours to pop, and again I have other palettes that just don’t need me to do this.
Overall, it’s an okay palette but I would rather have the £10 back that I paid for it.

MAC Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Visage

This was a really nice base to use. It added a nice, healthy looking glow to my skin, with this luminosity being visable even beneath a low coverage foundation.
I really feel that this base helped my base apply in a way that looked more ‘put together.’
It also had a slightly tacky feeling to it, so I feel like my makeup will last longer.
I received a sample with purchase, but dependent on price I think that I will repurchase when I run out of this.

MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish – Soft Frost

I bought the shade ‘Soft Frost’ and really enjoy the glow that it gives. Due to my pale skin it can be difficult to find highlighters that don’t leave a cast on my skin. Due to this I normally go for pretty subtly highlighters, which have a frosty finish. I love the way that this looks on me, and the amount of glow it gives
It also didn’t highlight my skin texture, which I really liked because it is something that I am extremely insecure about.
Overall I definitely recommend this as I feel that it will last forever, and I love the finish that it has.

Illamasqua Beyond Powder – Electric – 5/5

Bought this highlight on sale for £10, and I really enjoy it. It’s soft and applies smoothly, and doesn’t emphasize the texture on my skin.
It gives a lovely and natural highlight that isn’t too in your face, and I like the way that the pinky tone looks on me.
The packaging is also really cute, and the mirror is a very good size.
Overall I would recommend, especially if you can get it on a good deal.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation – 5/5

This is the best colour match I have found to my actual skin tone, but due to the coverage level I think I can afford to go up a shade without it looking orangy – feel like it would just make me look less ghost like!
I really enjoy this foundation. Normally foundation makes me look really, really dry and cakey, but I found that this gave me just enough coverage to cancel out redness without emphasising the moles on my face.
I definately think I will go a shade up, but I also definately recommend as it’s the only foundation I’ve tried they had helped me feel more confident as opposed to less.

Glossier Skin Tint – 5/5

Overall I think that this product is amazing if you are looking for that perfect ‘no makeup makeup look,’ but only if you already have pretty decent skin.
It is very lightweight, and I honestly think that you could get away with people not knowing that you were wearing makeup – I honestly couldn’t tell any difference without looking at the before and after pictures, and even then it wasn’t that dramatic a difference – I could still see some texture and redness, but it covered it up brilliantly.
I would recommend to somebody who is looking for that ‘me but better’ look.
One thing I will note is that this was tiny compared to what I was expecting, especially considering the finish. Overall I’m not sure if I would repurchase this product, but I am happy that I did, as I personally prefer low/medium coverage and would definately feel comfortable wearing this on a ‘good skin day’ – I marked it down by 1 star because I think that I would want just a little bit more coverage if my skin was having an ‘off day.’ If you do purchase this, please bare in mind that you won’t really get any coverage with this, it just makes your skin look healthier.

Glossier Stretch Concealer – 5/5

I really liked this concealer because it wasn’t cakey in the least. I have pretty dark under-eyes that also tend to crease really easily but this did not crease on me at all.
It left me looking refreshed and made my under-eyes look very natural but also well concealed.
I would definitely recommend for under eye use. In regards to spot concealing, I also felt that it did okay to conceal a spot that I had next to one of my lips, so again I would recommend, as it didn’t grab to my dry skin.

Glossier Lip Gloss – 5/5

Glossier in general gives me that ‘you but less dead’ look. Super happy with everything I’ve tried, and I particularly love this lip balm!

Super nourishing and the red one just gives a lovely flush of colour that makes me look healthy.
I would definately buy again, even with the price tag. One thing that I would note though, is that there is no need to buy more than one, as the colour is very sheer and therefore there is no real, noticeable difference between shades.

With this in mind though, I would recommend the red as it does give a healthy tint to the lips.
